The Guitar Thread

Here is a place for all guitar players on the boards to unite and discuss various things guitar related.

What gear do you have?
What gear do you want?
Who is your guitar idol?
Etc.

My gear: Epiphone Les Paul Standard limited edition (OBL pickups, translucent black finish, blue flake pickguard, black chrome hardware), Standard Fender Strat (maroon finish), Rickenbacker 360 12-String (white), Lotus L-80 Acoustic, Epiphone Les Paul Jr. (80 bucks w/ sunburst....felt like buying it for fun), Squier Stratocaster (black, but I don't play it anymore, won't stay in tune), Ibanez AX 7521 7-String (charcoal grey finish), Fender Standard P-Bass (red), and two Crate practice amps.

Gear I want: Vox AD120VT amp (probably in the stack), Gibson Les Paul, PRS (anything

), and maybe a double neck.

Guitar idols: Jimmy Page, Kirk Hammett, Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Actually, I don't play guitar. I play the drums and have been in two bands. We had a good amount of local shows with both but at the end it didn't work out. I have a great drumset, but I don't want to get detailed of the exact equipment.

However, some of my guitar idols are Adam Jones, Kurt Kobain, Led Zeppelin.

I'm thinking of playing guitar. My idols are Randy Rhodes, Tony Iommi, Eddie Van Halen, and Jimi Hendrix.

i have a friend who wants to get a guitar but since shes really short its gonna take her a long time to find one thats just right for here i know almost nothing about guitars though i like to listen to bands that use them

I play the acoustic and electric guitar, and the piano. My idols are:
Brian May, Mark Knopfler, Jimi Hendrix, John Frusciante and Eric Clapton. Can't be bothered to go into the ludicrous details of amps and guitars. I would like a classic Fender from the 50s, and an amp.........a big amp
