They say they those in Hollywood die in threes:
R.I.P. Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Ed McMahon. So sad...

Ed & Farah have been in poor health for years, but either way, it's sad when legends pass on.
![]() Though never his biggest fan, it is a shame that Michael has passed on. I'd hate to ruin the symbolism and solemnity of this thread, but I have a few things to say about this... I understand, he is the King of Pop. There is no doubt about that in my mind. He had an illustrious career in music that will go unmatched (though I do not agree with CNN saying he was bigger than Elvis and The Beatles). But don't you think that maybe all this glorification they're giving him is a bit much? His career was overshadowed by the bitter trials he went through during the alleged molestations (that I believe he should not have gotten away with, as many people would also agree with me). I'm saying this now, does he really deserve all this? CNN dedicating their programming completely to him when there are so many other issues in the world with the situation in Iran as it is. Sure, it's sad to lose a legend, but we have to move on and report the news that needs to be heard. Do you think they're going to dedicate their programming to OJ Simpson when he goes? Absolutely not. He was a huge collegiate football star for UCLA, and was acquitted of the murder trials he went through, when everyone knows he was guilty. They will not show him the glory they are showing Michael, and frankly I do not believe Michael deserves it. I never thought I'd see the day when we'd be glorifying a pedophile on national television... You know who I really feel bad for? Farah. She got completely overshadowed by Michael and was left with nothing more than a scroll on the bottom of CNN. It's a damn shame... Sorry for the mini-rant, though! ![]()

Well Michael certainly had plenty of problems and I wasn't a fan of his but it's still sad. He had undeniable talent and made a huge impact on music and America.

About Michael Jackson: Well, when you grew up like he did, you are surely going to have problems. (Under the pressure of his father trying to re-create 'The Jackson Brothers' and make it big. He was rehearsing singing everyday when he was 5 years old.) I believe he loves children so much because he prized their innocence that he never had. I personally do not believe he should be labeled a pedophile. (Especially when once the court-case was settled, a bunch of mothers came out of the wood-work and accused Michael.) Personally I think CNN does not really care about Michael, but the money they can make off of reporting about him. Especially because his family is so famous. (Especially Janet.) Probably the same reason iTunes is advertising all his albums. (9 out of the Top 10 albums are Michael Jackson albums. Over-shadowing The Black Eyed Peas new album which is now at #9 behind 8 Michael CD's.)It's a shame they are marketing a death but it's how the world works now.

Consider this; I don't know if you've heard of them on your side of the pond, but we had a double act of comedians called Morecambe and Wise, and on their show they'd be shown living together, and even sharing a bed. The show was light-hearted fun. When some friends of mine saw them on the TV in this day and age, they immediately said "Are they gay?" because they were in bed. Another sign of the cynicism of our times in my opinion. As I say, I don't think we'll know the truth but, if Jackson was definitely innocent, I feel for him all the more that he went through the inevitable heartbreak this must have caused him, and its a great shame he died with him still widely frowned upon. I can't see us ever again having a singer who put such energy and emotion into his songs. See the videos for the energy, listen to the songs for the emotion. It would be a struggle to find another singer who shares these qualities

I think Bond himself is the key ingredient of the films: the combination of the larger-than-life and his stereotypically British response. When faced with larger-than-life gadgets, villains and situations, he must take all of this in his stride, keep calm and carry on, and, no matter how difficult the situation is, he must not only pull through but ultimately come out on top |

Isn't London and some investors going to take a huge financial loss due to Jackson's death with the cancellation of the concerts over there ? I thought a lot of money was already spent on this?

The only reason, I think, that they would say this is larger then both of them is because how easy it is to communicate with one another and how fast the information can spread among us. Especially since almost every celebrity had some of their 2 cents to put in. That is just my opinion though.

Now this guy the Oxy clean man at 50..
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Tampa police say Billy Mays, the television pitchman known for his boisterous hawking of products such as Orange Glo and OxiClean, has died. He was 50.Authorities say Mays was pronounced dead Sunday morning after being found by his wife at home. There were no signs of a break-in, and investigators do not suspect foul play. The coroner's office expects to have an autopsy done by Monday afternoon. Mays' wife, Deborah Mays, says the family doesn't expect to make any public statements and asked for privacy. Mays was also featured on the reality TV show "Pitchmen" on the Discovery Channel, which followed Mays and Anthony Sullivan in their marketing jobs. Discovery Channel spokeswoman Elizabeth Hillman released a statement Sunday extending sympathy to the Mays family. "Everyone that knows him was aware of his larger-than-life personality, generosity and warmth," Hillman's statement said. "Billy was a pioneer in his field and helped many people fulfill their dreams.
