When do you think Bond felt most vulnerable, weak, defeated, or close to death?

I think Goldfinger will remain the moment when Bond is totally helpless; It was just brilliant. Auric already found out what he needed to know, he was like "You have lost and your no threat to me, good bye". That whole scene was Hitchcockian suspense to a tee with Bond basically pleading for his life, it's the only time he did so.

maybe when he thought that he was about to be shot in the back by General Moon's execution squad in DAD... just take a good look at his face in those moments... :S

I think he was at his most vulnerable when he was with Vesper in CR- as Bond, he seemed so relaxed and at ease, he didn't seem prepared at all for Vesper's betrayal- well played by Craig.

Weak- I think he looked very weakened and at the end of his tether at the end of the tanker chase in LTK. When he's crawling across the floor and his suit is stitched up, he looks like he's on his last legs. Plus when he's gasping for breath as he watches the tanker blowing up once he set Sanchez alight.

I agree with bond007, Bond looked pretty close to death and defeated in DAD- when he's got the firing squad behind him, and later he also looks defeated when M she tells him that he's no use to anyone.

Close to death, again the firing squad in DAD, plus when he's in the coffin in DAF.

Thank you, I got to thinking about it and there were so many times throughout the series Bond was so vulnerable. In just about every movie the villain has Bond in his/her clutches and is close to killing him, but Bond somehow makes it.

I would second these two along with Brosnan's capture and torture stuff in DAD .....Perhaps adding the chair torture scene from TWINE also.
