Daniel Craig cast in thriller 'Dream House'

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- British actor Daniel Craig will star in the psychological thriller "Dream House," Morgan Creek Productions said Friday.

The announced was made by James G. Robinson and Rick Nicita, the production company's co-chairmen.

Craig, the current James Bond in the "007" secret agent movie series, will play a successful publishing executive who quits his job in New York to relocate his family and two daughters to a small New England town. They soon learn their home was once the murder scene of a mother and her children, believed to be at the hands of the husband who survived.

"Dream House" will be directed by Jim Sheridan, who has been nominated for six Oscars and two Golden Globes. He has also directed seven actors in Oscar-nominated roles. His previous works include "My Left Foot," "In the Name of the Father" and "In America." His next film, "Brothers," starring Tobey Maguire, Jake Gyllenhaall and Natalie Portman, will be released Dec. 4.

Craig is currently preparing for his Broadway debut in "A Steady Rain," directed by John Crowley and co-starring Hugh Jackman.
