It was very good, though some of the gadgets seemed a bit farfetched and the fights weren't brilliant, but it's greatest pitfall was that IT WASN'T A BOND FILM! It had most of the classic Bond ingredients, and there's a danger that it might out-Bond Bond if Broccoli and Wilson aren't careful. It was light-hearted yet had an engaging and suspenseful plot, fun gadgets and an attactive yet strong female character. Even the locations were pure Bond: Russia, India and Dubai- looks like they covered the locations the Bond team considered but didn't go with. It'll be good that Skyfall will be going to different locations rather than repeating India's appearance in MI:GP.

If MI:GP never existed, and most of the plot/script for it was used in Skyfall, with the Bondian elements included (the new Q instead of Benjy; gunbarrel sequence; MI6 instead of the IMF....) I would have been very satisfied. Mission Impossible has set the benchmark very high, but it's not a Bond film, so hopefully Skyfall will capitalise on the advantages it has and make a truly classic Bond film!
On a scale of 1 to 10 I would agree out of all the M.I. films an 8 would suffice here of the film also .The other only action film this year that was entertaining and suprising to me was Stallones " The Expendables" .

I think the plot in M.I.4 definately proves there is another sort of new cold war going on, and as far as the gadgets being far fetched and the fight scenes not to par I would dissagree on those at least we seen some new spy gadgets and longer fight scenes as well as stunts that were not CGI and the exotic locations to speak also ,elements that were lacking in the last 2 Bond Films . I think some may agree are we going to see Bond in "SKYFALL" or 007 still stuck in some internal affairs or out saving the world like he should be.......

It does seem like there's more focus on internal affairs, with all the filming in London, but at least China and Turkey show that there's an international angle. We do need to see more classic Bond, and it is what I'm expecting, when we consider the public response to QoS; the 50th cinematic Bond anniversary; the successful return of more traditional spy-related films such as Johnny English, MI:GP, etc; comments from Craig and Mendes on the film.

I'll be very disappointed if it isn't up to scratch!

I think Bond himself is the key ingredient of the films: the combination of the larger-than-life and his stereotypically British response. When faced with larger-than-life gadgets, villains and situations, he must take all of this in his stride, keep calm and carry on, and, no matter how difficult the situation is, he must not only pull through but ultimately come out on top

‘Mission: Impossible 5′ Confirmed by Viacom CEO

Hold on we getting another one !

Viacom CEO Hints at Plans for Fifth 'Mission: Impossible' Film

Asked about the possibility at the shareholder meeting of the Paramount Pictures parent, Philippe Dauman seemed inclined.
After the global box-office success of Paramount Pictures' Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol, another movie in the Tom Cruise action franchise has seemed inevitable.

Tom Cruise's Top-Grossing Film And a brief statement made by Viacom CEO Philippe Dauman at the Paramount parent company's annual shareholder meeting Thursday in New York confirms the studio's intention to make a follow-up.

Dauman was asked by a shareholder if there were "any plans to develop an additional sequel." His response: "Oh, yes."

Ghost Protocol's worldwide box-office take stands at $679.6 million, making it Cruise's top-grossing movie, topping 2005's Steven Spielberg-directed War of the Worlds ($591.7million).

The Brad Bird-directed Ghost Protocol, which hit theaters Dec. 16, was written by Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec. It is not yet clear whether Bird or the Ghost Protocol writers would be back for the fifth film in the franchise.

Brian De Palma directed the first Mission: Impossible film, which was released in 1996. John Woo helmed 2000's Mission: Impossible II, and J.J. Abrams directed M:I-3 in 2006.
