Skyfall Istanbul Press Conference
Don't get your hopes up with this thread!
I just had a look at the snippet of the Press Conference on 007.com and thought "is that it?"- all it was really was everyone saying how wonderful everything and everyone is, rather than actually giving us any more clues about the film. Was it really worth doing? If there's more to the conference that it is yet to be released and is of interest I'll take that back!

I think Bond himself is the key ingredient of the films: the combination of the larger-than-life and his stereotypically British response. When faced with larger-than-life gadgets, villains and situations, he must take all of this in his stride, keep calm and carry on, and, no matter how difficult the situation is, he must not only pull through but ultimately come out on top |

They say the Turkish scenes will play small time wise in the film ,But it seems there is alot going on there if this is the pre-title opening .This may be the longest pre-title in the series it is sounding like.
The scenes there also sound like they take place predated in time to the actual events in the film ,As Craig is missing the beard from the earlier shots in London. Wonder if the Istanbul events lead up to explain the beard ? First time we have seen Ola Rapace is he working for Silva or just a standalone type villain for the pre-title? They mentioned the last Fleming novels as a sort of inspiration for stuff in Skyfall meaning stuff from You Only Live Twice and The Man with the Golden Gun or the short stories novel ? Sounds like we will be dealing with a depressed Bond .................

Quote:
Could be a depressed Bond (not sure if I want that this time round really), but then Mendes has said Skyfall is generally "more playful" than Craig's past two, so I'd have thought (and hope) that if there is any depression it's short-lived. Perhaps that ties in with the news from the trailer that Bond is being assessed (word association), perhaps he has a bit of a breakdown, is mentally assessed and somehow ties in with him going back to his roots...?
