hmmm, where to start...

well first of all sea monster, i actually agree with ya on somethin cause i like Evanescence too, which surprises myself. but it has nothing to do with Amy Lee. i just like the songs i've heard.

6th, i agree with what you said about the format of songs nowadays. but that's the way the industry works, at least with major labels. they do what makes money, not necessarily what's artistic and true to the artist. that's the formula for success. but like you, i can't stand that and i think there's a serious lack of talent right now. at the same though, i don't think that everyone who's having success with that formula has no talent. there's certain artists i think are great, but they're just basically following along with everyone else. musicians need to grow some grapefruits, step up and be creative, take some risks for once. i respect real artists and real music, which is why there ain't too much i respect about the industry right now. the most talented people i listen to are probably the least successful. they're not famous, they're not millionaires. but they make better music than just about anybody who is, and that's all that matters to me.

lyrics are a big deal to me too. usually if i like a mainstream song, what i'm really sayin is i like the music, not the lyrics. lyrics are so ****** lately. i wouldn't say i like lyrics that are hard to figure out, cause i wanna get what people are sayin. i mean i usually understand everything the first time i hear it anyway cause i'm just intelligent like that, ha. but i definitly do like lyrics that are complex, thought provoking, and have actual content. most of what i hear everyday is just blah, lol.
