The question now is, if Blofeld should return, whom do we want to see in the part? My vote goes to Jason Isaacs.

The issue is who owns the rights to Blofeld, and I think that whole issue with Kevin McClory made it clear that EoN isn't going to be using Blofeld anytime soon.

I bet they can get hold of the rights if the story demands it.

Unfortunately, it's not a question of if they could get a hold of the rights, it's a question of if they could get a hold of the rights reasonably. If the McClory estate asks for $1 billion USD, I doubt it's going to happen. I also know that McClory himself was very particular in his demands (hence the producer credit in TB).

IIRC, McClory has a history of being unreasonable.

Telly Savalas was def. the best Blofeld for my money...He was so menacing, he seemed to always have that evil smirk on his face...He really seemed to get so much pleasure out of every dastardly act he did to Bond

I would too...Bond has been missing that evil archrival genius-type that has a long history with Bond the last couple of films IMO
