Stories for Bond 23

Thanks to some inspiration from bondfreak, I found some interesting past threads started by MGS where members post ideas for the next Bond film. I found the one for Bond 22 particularly interesting whereby you had a number of categories of film you could make. I think it would be a shame to not continue this very successful and creative tradition, and I'm sure MGS would like to see his idea continued. When he returns, he can also claw back this thread too

As before, here are the categories:

1. Classic Bond (Make it tradtional)
2. Oscar-Winning Bond (Make it the best you can.)
3. Reality check Bond ( Make it Very, very absurd)
4. Cheesey Bond (Make it really bad but beliveable, like Batman & Robin)
5. Super Cheesey Bond (WORST BOND MOVIE EVER!)
6. Haha Bond (Make it a comedy)

It can be a short story, a synopsis for a whole film, a scene or even a whole film. Points will be allocated out of a possible 100 for each contribution, with their authenticiy and "wow factor" being key. I'll adopt a Simon Cowell-esque persona when it comes to judging, so brace yourselves!

Good luck, and please state your intended category at the beginning of your contribution

PART I:

1. FADE IN:

Black frame. UNITED ARTISTS logo appears on screen.

FADE OUT

2. INT. BLACK FRAME:

A white circle appears from the left of the screen moving towards the right. Once the circle reaches the right end of the screen, an image is formed into the background.

We are now inside a gun barrel. The white circle the moves back from the right of the screen to the centre of the screen.

A man walks at the end of the circle, coming from the right walking to the left side of the screen. This man is JAMES BOND, walking towards the middle of the screen with the gun barrel following him.

Once he is in the centre of the screen, he turns with a WALTHER PPK 7.65 mm on his right hand. Bond is now facing us, breaking the fourth wall and shoots towards the audience.

Blood spills over, covering the screen in red.

A second later, the gun barrel moves left, then right, left again, and finally descends to the lower corner of the right side of the screen.

The circle then grows back as we zoom into the gunbarrel, giving us a first look at the movie.

3. EXT. CHURCH (SOMEWHERE IN PORTUGAL)- DAY:

A hundred people gather around a green ASTON MARTIN DBS 1969 that has been covered with flowers
Among the crowd we can see M, Q, Miss Moneypenny, Draco, Olympe, Che Che and Toussant.

Then, from the crowd a couple emerges. A man and a woman; both dressed in wedding clothes. They are JAMES BOND and his wife TRACY BOND. BOND rushes to his ASTON MARTIN and opens the right door, and then TRACY enters the car, while BOND shuts the door behind her.

BOND then walks around the car, opens the door and sits on the driver’s seat.

As the crowd cheers, the ASTON MARTIN gets moving, leaving the church behind.

As Q, M and MONEYPENNY say goodbye, M hands MONEYPENNY a handkerchief to wipe her tears.

M:
What would you do without me Miss
Moneypenny?

MONEYPENNY:
I always cry in weddings, Sir.

4. EXT. STREET – DAY:

The ASTON MARTIN rushes down the road.

CUT TO:

5. INT. ASTON MARTIN – DAY:

Inside the ASTON MARTIN, JAMES BOND is behind the wheel, and next to him, his wife TRACY, looks down the road with happiness.

CUT TO:

6. EXT. STREET – DAY:

As the ASTON MARTIN stops by a curve, BOND steps out of the car, to get rid of the flowers over the ASTON MARTIN.

He then looks inside his car where TRACY is looking at him. BOND comes closer, and then they kiss.

CUT TO:

7. EXT. STREET – DAY:

As the ASTON MARTIN is still at the curve, a silver MERCEDES 600 is drawing near. It is not long before the MERCEDES passes by the ASTON MARTIN. At this moment, we can see how a REDHEADED WOMAN is looking out of the ROLLS’ window. She is holding an automatic gun. The woman is IRMA BUNT.

CUT TO:

8. INT. MERCEDES – DAY:

Inside the car we realize that the man driving the vehicle is none other than ERNST STAVRO BLOFELD.

CUT TO:

9. EXT. STREET – DAY:

As the MERCEDES 600 passes next to the ASTON MARTIN, IRMA BUNT fires the automatic gun.

The bullets fly by, finally hitting the ASTON MARTIN as BOND throws himself down to the ground for cover.

As the bullets cease, the MERCEDES 600 is now far away.

Bond stands in a second, and runs back to the driver’s seat.

10. INT. ASTON MARTIN – DAY:

BOND enters the car, not looking at TRACY.

BOND:
It’s Blofeld! It’s Blofeld!

There is no answer. BOND turns only to realize what has happened. TRACY is still. Blood runs down her face. She has a bullet hole in her head.

CUT TO:

11. MAIN TITLE SEQUENCE APPEARS WITH THE TITLE SONG AS BACKGROUND.

THE PROPERTY OF A LADY

Once the credits of the title sequence are finished, there is a FADE INTO THE MOVIE.

12. EXT. CEMENTERY (LONDON) – DAY (RAIN):

As rain falls down with violence, we can see a small crowd around a coffin. Among the crowd we can see M, Q, MONEYPENY, DRACO, OLYMPE and most importantly; JAMES BOND.

They are all looking at the coffin, as it starts to descend into its grave.

Finally the crowd starts to dissipate and in a few moments JAMES BOND is the only one standing by the tomb.

JAMES BOND looks down at the coffin; his face as cold as ice.

We can read on the tombstone; Teresa Bond beloved wife of James Bond. We have all the time in the world.

FADE TO:
13. INT. M’S OFFICE – DAY:

M is sitting behind his desk smoking from his pipe. Q is standing in the middle of the room; both of them in silence.

After some seconds MONEYPENNY enters the office. M turns his eyes to her.

M:
Miss Moneypenny, has 007 arrived?

MONEYPENNY:
Not yet sir.

M lowers his eyes in concern for his best agent.

Q:
Poor James. He must be devastated.

It’s not long before the door opens once again. This time BOND enters the office.

M:
007, I wish to give my condolences.

BOND says nothing, his face as cold as ice.

M (Cont’D):
I would have thought that Blofeld was
Dead.

M looks at BOND, who is just listening without saying a word. M takes his pipe off his mouth.

M (Cont’D):
007, I want you to take some time off.

BOND:
Sir, I would prefer that you let me
Continue with my work.
M (Cont’D):
You are in no condition to do it. You
must take some weeks. Go somewhere where
you can rest and recover.

BOND realizes there’s no point in arguing with M, so he turns his back on M and walks towards the door. As he leaves the room, M, Q and MONEYPENNY look at him with sadness, M who looks at him with compassion.

Once Bond has left the room M looks at MONEYPENNY.

Moneypenny:
I believe he will he will go after Blofeld, Sir.

M looks at his pipe for a couple of seconds.

Q:
Are you going to stop him, Sir?

M:
What he does next is not of our business. It is now a personal matter for him.

Q and MONEYPENNY look surprised at M’s decision. M turns his eyes to MONEYPENNY.

M:
Miss Moneypenny, make sure to tell the PM
that 007 is on leave for the time
being.

MONEYPENNY:
Yes, sir.

MONEYPENNY exits the room. M and Q look at eachother.

FADE TO:

14. INT. ASTON MARTIN - AFTERNOON:
BOND is behind the wheel of his ASTON MARTIN once again. He steps on the accelerator. The humming of the ASTON MARTIN grows larger.
15. EXT. ROAD. FIELDS – AFTERNOON:
The ASTON MARTIN races across the road with the green fields extending at both sides of the road and the see beyond the fields at his right.
16. INT. ASTON MARTIN – AFTERNOON: (CLOSE UP)

The SPEEDOMETER marks 100 mph. 110 mph. 120 mph.

17. EXT. ROAD. FIELDS – AFTERNOON:

The ASTON MARTIN runs faster and faster until it reaches a CURVE; the ASTON MARTIN continues without slowing down.

18. INT. ASTON MARTIN – AFTERNOON: (OVER SHOULDER)

Through the WINDSHIELD we can see the road ahead, BOND takes the curve and after the curve we see something else a COW!

19. EXT. ROAD. FIELDS – AFTERNOON:
The ASTON MARTIN running full speed down the road. A COW meters ahead. There’s no way the ASTON MARTIN will evade hitting the cow.
20. INT. ASTON MARTIN – AFTERNOON: (CLOSE UP ON BOND)

BOND realizes that it’s too late.

(CLOSE UP ON THE BRAKE PEDAL)

BOND steps on the BRAKE PEDAL as fast as he can.

(OVER SHOULDER)
BOND turns the wheel to the left. The COW disappearing in a second, the road is lost from sight.

21. EXT. ROAD – AFTERNOON:
The ASTON MARTIN has left the road. The car is SPINNING without control at the field to the left of the road; SKIDS sideways.
22. INT. ASTON MARTIN – AFTERNOON: (OVER SHOULDER)

Through the WINDSHIELD we can see everything moving. The ASTON MARTIN continues SKIDDING without control.

23. EXT. FIELDS – AFTERNOON:
Finally after several seconds, the ASTON MARTIN finally STOPS with a violent movement in the middle of a field.
24. INT. ASTON MARTIN – AFTERNOON: (OVER SHOULDER)

The ASTON MARTIN stops. BOND is projected forward; his hands against the wheel his face against his hands. NO MOVEMENT. A couple of seconds pass. Finally there is a MOVEMENT.
(CLOSE UP ON BOND)
BOND rises, he looks ahead through the windshield. He is not hurt except for a bruise on his forehead. BOND turns to his right. He sees something.
25. EXT. ROAD – AFTERNOON:
The COW is standing in the middle of the road. Looking at the strange vehicle that just passed by her. The COW stares and finally the COW moves and walks away from the road heading to the fields.
26. INT. ASTON MARTIN – AFTERNOON: (MEDIUM SHOT)
We see BOND from the left seat. He turns away from the road and looks ahead. He moves backwards to rest against the backrest. He takes a deep breath.
CUT TO:
(EXTREME CLOSE UP ON BOND’S EYES)
BOND’s blue glacier eyes look into distance; absent minded.

(SUPERIMPOSE OVER BOND’S EYES)
(SCENES FROM OHMSS)
BOND saving TRACY’s life at the beach. Their encounter on the casino. Meeting on Draco’s birthday. Their time together. Skiing together. Spending the night on the stable. BOND asking TRACY to marry him. Buying the ring. Leaving the church. The ROLLS 600 passes by the ASTON MARTIN. IRMA BUNT fires. A scream. TRACY’s image; her face covered in blood.
(SUPERIMPOSE ENDS)
(EXTREME CLOSE UP ON BOND’S EYES)
We can see BOND’s eyes. Still looking into distance. No tears, just coldness coming from them.
BOND closes his eyes. They remained closed for a couple of seconds. They finally open.
27. INT. ASTON MARTIN – AFTERNOON:

Bond moves forward. He puts his hands on the wheel, and then he turns the car keys. The engine roars.

28. EXT. FIELD – AFTERNOON:
The ASTON MARTIN is once again on the move. It turns right, moves across the field, and finally it reaches back to the road, and a second later the ASTON MARTIN is once again running down the road.
The ASTON MARTIN disappears into distance while the sun is setting behind the ocean miles away.
FADE OUT.

I’m so glad I started this! I am most sincerely really liking this “Property of a Lady”. Love the title, the PTS drawing inspiration from the original idea that Tracey’s death was to be in DAF’s PTS. The script rings true, with Q more human and sympathetic, and M having the authority. Unlike Dench’s more maternal M, who offers Bond time off if he needs it, Lee’s M tells Bond to take time off. Him instructing to stay out of Bond’s business also rings true.

Couple of nit-picks however. Can’t see M sitting on his desk, but rather behind it and also M would inform the PM that Bond was on holiday or on leave, rather than vacation. I like Bond's crash- he’s in a self-destructive mood, then there’s the surprise of the cow, and the cow’s look of indifference at the car and walking away would be quite comical. Look forward to seeing how this develops!

Points:

For the first post, the cast list: 70/100. Good cast and initial idea, though I felt it was a bit premature to produce a cast list when the whole film hasn't been written yet (I presume?), or, if so, then it doesn't seem like the film will have a great variety of characters. On the other hand, if this cast list is for just this one scene, I will reconsider my score.

For the first part of the film: 97/100 As said above, I consider this almost perfection, aside from the nit-picks mentioned (points deducted not for the desk, but the Americanism "vacation"). High score for classic feel, it rings true, attention to detail, creativity and quality of script.

Good job so far, you've set the standard incredibly high bond007!

lol! Sorry about that...

The cast is not complete... I will announce new cast members once their characters appear... originally I intended to post the whole script once it was complete... but then I saw this new thread so... I couldnt resist , that's why I already had selected some of the cast members... I even composed the title song... but I'm not much of a song writter... so I decided to leave it out...

I just hope I can find some spare time to continue to post constantly....

Thanks for the feedback, glad you like it!

Ok, sorry to rush you! In that case the 75/100 becomes 90/100, nothing wrong with the background to the film and the cast. Good job! You've given me no opportunity to display my Simon Cowell characteristics! Ah, I'm sure you're being modest about the theme. What theme or song does it most closely resemble, and who would be your ideal performer of the song?

Look forward to seeing new additions soon.

I guess You Only Live Twice or Nobody Does it Better... I have to agree with Michael Wilson... Duffy would be on top of my list...

Hope I can find some time to continue soon...

I think it's marvellous how we're all sparking each other off! Big fan of the poster bond007, and particularly impressed with the tag-line.

Just been thinking how amazing it would be if the existing Bond films and our creations were merged and actually existed. If we squeezed them all between 1962 and 2009, we'd certainly fill in the 6 year and 4 year gaps a bit better!

I love that tagline I'll give your script a good read through ASAP!

EDIT:

Read it, and so far, it's looking great! Love the realistic script layout to it. Keep it up!

Ben Dickson has no reputation.
Things I'd like to see in Bond 23

Well, after Quantum I just sort of gave up. Too violent, too devoid of anything controversial. But it wasn't a bad film. Sort of by-the-numbers. And the 'human garbage' joke- well, it wasn't just enough! The Maddy Smith-type dipped in oil- what on Earth was that about? Were they saying that she was a greasy wop? Or were they preparing me for suckling.....?!? I would like to see the new Bond film go to somewhere exciting. Perhaps (rough order of main story points): 1. Corruption at headquarters, and Bond must join the baddies undercover to save himself. 2. Bond versus a Moneypenny turned vengeaful. 3. Bond goes on holiday and is entangled in kidnapping mischief. He has to use his wits only to save himself and an important dignatory. 4. Bond is then in Switzerland. 5. Bond is trapped in an undergrond cave/evil guy headquarters after the death of Tracey (storyline intertwines with OHMSS). But these are just my ideas. Obviously the makers don't seem to want to stray from the money-spinning formula and I'd say the box-office receipts will steadily decline. Rightly so, gutless wonders!!! And, no, i'm not suckling on the oil-dripping dead babes ta ta's. You guys are sickos!!! The above film idea could include a sequel to OHMSS. But I think you could use Craig as Bond. Viewers can turn the new face into the old character. You could also shoot the third part of the film in Berne, where part of OHMSS was shot. I would shoot the holiday scenes in the second part of the story in Australia. I don't think they've ever shot there for a Bond picture. There's some great locations for the hunting the kidnappers scenes. This, in essence, makes it three films in one. But they have done that before. I think it works because a Bond film is really the length of three television episodes. People really drift off after about an hour. So, one storyline is resolved during the film only to lead onto the second story which is then joined to the third story which is a carry on of the events of OHMSS. You could even film scenes of the new Bond and Tracey on holiday somewhere where they haven't filmed many scenes before, like Scandinavia. That would make sense, Bond being Blonde! And the thing that joins the three stories is an evil overlord who is really playing a game with James. He is a mysterious character who plays with Bond for fun. An Occultist who gets a thrill challenging Bond to new levels. This would be revealed in the climax in the Snow cave. But, there is an open-ending to the story. Bond is bent on revenge for the death of Tracey, but he lets the villain go to save hostages from the nearby town. It's a downer of an ending as Bond is at Tracey's grave. He swears to find his enemy until his last breath.

"too devoid of anything controversial"

I didn't realise Bond was supposed to controversial... if anything, I consider QoS to be one of the most controversial, what with the relatively great amount violence, bad language, different editing style and its political references.

"Bond must join the baddies undercover to save himself"
Now I see what you mean about controversial, that would be an interesting plotline.

Not sure about a psycho vengeful Moneypenny , maybe a new Austin Powers' plot! Bond's holiday of wits and intrigue sounds interesting though...

"gut less wonders"
Have a bit of optimism! I think that QoS was a bit of a blip, as they do have from time to time (its expected from such a long series, with such pressure), but with Haggis gone and the relatively poor reception of QoS will, in my book, probably (and hopefully) lead to a more traditional Bond, moulded to suit Craig.

"also shoot the third part of the film in Berne, where part of OHMSS was shot. I would shoot the holiday scenes in the second part of the story in Australia. I don't think they've ever shot there for a Bond picture. There's some great locations for the hunting the kidnappers scenes. This, in essence, makes it three films in one. But they have done that before."

I think you've got some good points there, and they do tend to string a number of locations and plots together for one film sometimes.

I would like greater use of Scandinavia, a beautiful part of the world, like Australia, sadly neglected by the film series, so far. But when would Tracey and Bond have gone on holiday? I'm guessing this was squeezed in before she was shot (I don't think she would have been much company otherwise)

"An Occultist who gets a thrill challenging Bond to new levels. This would be revealed in the climax in the Snow cave. "

Some other interesting ideas- sounds a bit like what Dr No does in Fleming's novel of Dr No. Like the ending too.

My overall verdict: ideas are quite scattered, some better than others (vengeful Moneypenny springs to mind...), but nevertheless there are a lot of gems here! I'll give 54/100, which would be improved if its tied together in a more concrete plot, but certainly good foundations there

I think Bond himself is the key ingredient of the films: the combination of the larger-than-life and his stereotypically British response. When faced with larger-than-life gadgets, villains and situations, he must take all of this in his stride, keep calm and carry on, and, no matter how difficult the situation is, he must not only pull through but ultimately come out on top

Ben Dickson has no reputation.
Well, I passed by the skin of my teeth. But it was really a haphazard stab at it. I was sort of mixing two ideas together. I think the idea of setting another story around the OHMSS story with new locations is the go. They did remake Thunderball, after all. And that wasn't the greatest movie ever. So, here's another stab at getting your approval:
The above scene at the end of OHMSS leads into Bond going to Scandinavia to wind down from it all. He looks out at a snow-covered Copenhagen as he remembers back to Tracey (this is done with Craig as Bond and some new actress as Tracey) Bond decides to visit the theatre to see a play. The Christmas lights are still on as he finds a cafe to sit and read the paper in downtown Copenhagen. Bond reads about a library in Stockholm in which one can access new records concerning family ancestry and financial dealings. Bond becomes interested in some documents at a museum in Stockholm. On the trip through the snow on a train to Stockholm he's suddenly caught up in the action again. There's someone after him. It seems there is someone with ill intent towards Mr. Bond and they want to kill him. After a narrow escape which involves walking around on top of carriages and almost falling off into the snow, Bond arrives in Stockholm at night. Bond meets a woman at the hotel he's staying at who has some connection to a famous family in Sweden. Bond and the woman get to know each other very well. The next day Bond researches his family history and finds out his family is connected to investments in Sweden. There is still something unresolved in finances of a very large amount. On further meetings with his new amour, we find that Bond has been planning to leave the secret service. He's had enough of the danger, and the loss of Tracey has left him with a deep emotional scar and the fear that he will never find stability in his life. He becomes enamoured with his new mate, Simone, and they go on a cruise on the Baltic Sea. The couple dine and Bond tries to bring up the odd events on the way to Stockholm, but Simone changes the subject. She talks of her connection to Finland, where they're headed. After dinner Bond and Simone gamble with a strange man while on board. He talks to them as if he knows something. He tells them that they don't have to worry about a nest-egg if they get married. The next day on the boat Bond and Simone go to visit their new friend, but find that he is being taken out of his room in a body bag. Obviously someone doesn't want Bond getting any money, and perhaps wants him to stay with the secret service. After Bond and Simone get to Helsinki, they meet some of her family. They visit an art gallery and the next day they go on a Snowmobile trek to a place that means something to Simone in terms of her family. They are caught in terrible weather and have to stay with some natives and eat raw fish and drink the traditional brew. The morning after they find that their snowmobiles are gone, but they are left a note. The natives and the couple take a dogsled to a place described in the note. What's really going on and who is after Bond? What is Bond's connection the the Swedish financial world? and what is the truth about the beautiful Simone?
So, that's it from me. I hope you like the idea.
