Movies should be more like the books...
SSIA. I think Fleming's Bond was the best Bond. I believe that the Bond from the 60's was most modeled after Fleming's books, and look how classic they are. The current producers should definitely start reading the old classics again...

Absolutely! The books were brilliant and I'd love to see Casino Royale done by the book one day.

I'd love to see that! More in the style of OHMSS, except with better acting and less choppy filming techniques. (Oi, that movie almost made me seasick at times.)
Maxwell, ya really from Seattle? I'm from the outskirts, real close by. V. cool.

Pierce does good as bond, but is he a classic bond? Casino Royale is a very classic bond novel, in fact it started him off. I think that if they make it into a movie, it should be with an actor less like pierce and more like sean.

How can they have new movies based on the novels? They've pretty much used up all Ian Fleming's material, except Casino Royale. And, it's already been made into a made for tv movie two or three times.
The only thing left is some of Fleming's short stories (if they haven't already used them all), or some of Raymond Benson/John Gardner's novels.

One more thing, Mr. Blofeld, how do you explain dressing in drag in 1971? The seventies were a very confusing time for me. Besides, everyone was doing it. |

I'd like to see John Gardner's Role of Honour made into a film. It is a very good plot, and has good 'filmability'.
As for keeping movies in with the books, I'm for it. Just finished FRWL, FANTASTIC BOOK! The film is basically nothing like it.

I would like to see one Tom Clancy's books be made into a movie. Although it may be hard because of what he writes about.

Of course they should go back to the 60's films, and the novels, but they obviously won't.

Yea now that they have moved out of that time it would be silly to see bond go back because he was in the present day with Die Another Day.

No matter how much the character evolves with the times, his essence is in the novels; and that is something of which sight mustn't be lost.
