I'm in the middle of Moonraker. The last full Bond I read was Live And Let Die. It's fascinating to see the differences between the books and the films. I have the box set (from Past Times, you'll know what shop I mean if you live in the UK), and I'm on a mission to read all of the Fleming novels in order. I've read most of Benson's novels, the best Benson novel is High Time To Kill. That should be made into a film, it would be great

I just finished Live and Let Die. Some tense moments especially when Bond is in Mr. Big's wherehouse or when he and Solitaire are being dragged by boat. You need to read it next Perminisconious.

I finished The Man with the Golden Gun a few weeks ago. It was very different from the movie. Kind of boring if you ask me. However, the very beginning (Bond's attack on M) was the best part.

One more thing, Mr. Blofeld, how do you explain dressing in drag in 1971? The seventies were a very confusing time for me. Besides, everyone was doing it. |

One of my favorite Fleming moments...
I wonder why they've never used it? I was half-way expecting it to show up in "Die Another Day" when Bond gets released from North Korea, but the closest they came was having "M" talk to Bond through the glass partitions of the medical facility.

I just read From Russia With Love, On Her Majesty's Seceret Service & Goldfinger on my holidays. It was the first time i have read them & i have to say they were all brilliant. Goldfinger was a gem and i enjoyed the book even more than the film. Next up is Moonraker which i am really looking forward to.

Half way through Moonraker and so far so very good, the books it has to be said are superb. For years i never read them, as i just assumed they couldn't be as good as a Len Deighton or John Le Carre, how wrong i was.

Personally, I'll take a LeCarre over Fleming for the depth of characterization, and vinegar-tinged world-view. The "Karla" trilogy is one of my fondest reading memories. But Fleming is superb. Tell me what you think of the "cliffs of Dover" sequence when you get there. Scares the crap out of me! And even though, today, it may seem pointless and silly, I'd love to see the Bond producers do a sequence where Bond's face reacts to when 'M' says: "(Sir Hugo Drax) cheats at cards." I think that's just GREAT! mrkkbb, have you ever read "The Russia House?" Does it remind you of anything?

Whoops sorry, but don't worry apart from the fact you know there is a chase there is still a lot to enjoy. Its really well written in my opinion, let me know what you think.

Well, I started reading From Russia with Love, since I bought myself a copy of it while on vacation. I had debated which to buy, but since I had nobody to consult about it, I picked up the novel of my favorite Bond movie. Maybe from this point on, I'll read them in order, though.

I just finished "Moonraker", it's so different from the film!! I really enjoyed it! The car chase was very good too. It's so easy to imagine the intense scenes. I'm on the 3rd chapter of "Diamonds Are Forever", looks good so far!
