2009 James Bond Awards (Music)
As some of you may have seen already in the Movies and Literature Discussion Boards, I am trying to do a fairly broad poll in the style of "awards" on various aspects of Bond films. Here is the bit for music. I will list all of the title themes, and each member can nominate a theme for the final vote at most once a day. The first 7 will go through.
CATEOGORY 4: BEST TITLE THEME Dr No- James Bond theme followed by Jamaican-style music from Monty Norman FRWL- Instrumental FRWL theme by John Barry G- Goldfinger by Shirley Bassey T- Thunderball by Tom Jones YOLT- You Only Live Twice by Nancy Sinatra OHMSS- On Her Majesty's Secret Service Theme by John Barry DAF- Diamonds are Forever by Shirley Bassey LALD- Live and Let Die by Paul McCartney & Wings TMWTGG- The Man with the Golden Gun by Lulu TSWLM- Nobody Does it Better by Carly Simon M-Moonraker by Shirley Bassey FYEO- For Your Eyes Only by Sheena Easton O- All Time High by Rita Coolidge AVTAK- A View to a Kill by Duran Duran TLD- The Living Daylights by Aha LTK- Licence to Kill by Gladys Knight G- Goldeneye by Tina Turner TND- Tomorrow Never Dies by Sheryl Crowe TWINE- The World is Not Enough by Garbage DAD- Die Another Day by Madonna CR- You Know my Name by Chris Cornell QOS- Another Way to Die by Alesha Keyes and Jack White

I think Bond himself is the key ingredient of the films: the combination of the larger-than-life and his stereotypically British response. When faced with larger-than-life gadgets, villains and situations, he must take all of this in his stride, keep calm and carry on, and, no matter how difficult the situation is, he must not only pull through but ultimately come out on top |
