Jesper Christensen 'Mr White' Bond films are Crap
No More Mr. White In Future Bond Movies?
By George 'El Guapo' Roush on February 18, 2010 http://www.latinoreview.com/news/no-...nd-movies-9249 The Quantum organization puzzle still hasn't been solved, and Mr. White was one of the key players behind the mysterious organization. I'm not sure if the writers of the new Bond film are going to continue the Qunatum storyline and end it as a trilogy of sorts, or take a break from it and come back to it in a future Craig Bond flick. (Mr. White was the guy Bond shot at the end of Casino Royale, and was in the trunk during the opening car chase of Quantum.) What I do know is that Jesper Christensen, who played the villianous Mr. White, won't be back. More from MI6: Speaking to press ahead of Friday's premiere of his new film "The Family" at the Berlin film festival, Christensen said that he is happy that his "interlude as a villain in the James Bond series is over." Explaining his position, Christensen said: "Today, I admit that I regard [Casino Royale] and [Quantum of Solace] as really shit. All the people die in them, so two movies are enough for me." No offense to Jesper, but if you thought Casino Royale was crap, then you need your head examined. There's more to it. According to MI6, Mr. White was confronted by Bond at the end of Quantum of Solace in the original ending cut from the final print. I wouldn't read too much into this. Serious actors (and especially Scandinavians) always speak their mind between projects, but if they're asked back they're professional enough to do it.

Good, because I think they need to tie up that loose end with Mr White escaping. I'd be ok with a Goldfinger-esque break from Quantum, though I don't think Quantum is as established as SPECTRE, and the general public may wonder who on Earth Quantum are come Bond 24?

Perhaps we will never know more of Mr White now since this rant from Christensen . Mr White was a great mysterious character they never really got more into depth onscreen . I would still like to see the alternate ending scene that never got used ,although it would probably not change my opinion of the film one bit. Some more thought also may be that he knows something we don't ? Did they write out his part in the next one or did they do away with his character all together ? That would be ashame on Eon's part to leave us all hanging on this.

I thought White was the personal buffer between Quantum and it's leader. Looks like he isn't returning.

That leaves Eon with a problem they will have to explain some way in the future what happened to White or they may just get another actor to play the part? Or this unused scene may appear in the next film and White gets killed it's said that Bond encounters Guy Haines and Mr White in the scene and we see White getting ready to shoot someone probably Haines?.We all want and explanation of the characters fate......

Found this on the net; Jesper Christensen claims he was stitched up by the press at the Berlin Film Festival for sensationalizing quotes where he criticized the 007 franchise. The Danish actor, who played villain Mr White in the last two James Bond movies, created a firestorm last week when he was quoted saying his Bond films were 'really shit' during promotional work for his new movie "A Family".
He is now back-tracking on some of those comments. "I have great respect for the people who make Bond films. They have managed to create their very own meta-universe, almost a genre in itself and a series of 23 films now. It is unique." "I think Casino Royale is a super movie, which I am proud to be involved in. I think my character was becoming a really fun one and would have continued if it had been timely." He had no comments on the 2008 follow-up, "Quantum of Solace", which was received far less well by critics. "Humour is a dangerous case with journalists, in line with 'Oh, they got me. Bond is a sissy', or similar. Come on, if the Bond films were that bad, I would not have made them." All that said, Christensen hinted at the core of his reasoning behind his original comments: "That I think that movies like ["A Family"] is much more interesting to watch and more in line with why I became an actor is all together a different matter." |

Maybe he said it as a joke. Irony is a tricky tool. In Italy for instance, they don't even know what it is.

I think he slipped up in his words here...I personally would like to see more of him. He gave off a good creepy vibe that adds to the Quantum organization.

Just seen on MI6 that he's apparently retracted his words on that. Reading what he now says totally contrasts with what he said before. I don't really think much of him now to be honest, not as an actor but as a person. Bit stupid to go on a rant about Bond, in perhaps he most well-known performance ever, only to then totally contradict himself not long after. Seems very hypocritical- no wonder he's a villain

This is something the producers must take into consideration when they hire someone who's unknown in large parts of the world. Even if they haven't heard of the actor before, he might be bigger than De Niro in his own country. And have an ego of the same proportions.

His reasons also extend to his personal goal of maintaining two career tracks, one in Danish film and the other in foreign films, mostly English-language. "After such a role, I typically like to wait a year before there comes the perfect offer for a Danish film. I say no to a great deal of offers, because I want to avoid force feeding audiences with Jesper Christensen.
