You don't need a press release if you have a press conference.

Also, why we can be absolutely certain this is official:

Firstly, Variety is a very reputable source, one of the industry's most prominent and respected publications. They take care to know their stuff. It's not like they are just a tabloid rag.

Secondly, they are prepared to name sources. Many disreputable publications just use "an insider" as their source. Anonymity doesn't help credibility. And it's not just some guy working on the film who is quoted is the director, Martin Campbell.

Finally, there is a photograph of the press conference participants at MI6.

Nice to see that casting is finally moving along. Mikkelsen seems to be a fine choice for Le Chiffre. Hopefully now Eon is close to casting Vesper.

Sorry, I hadn't read the article you posted and only the rumor ones.

Still think Jurgan Tarrach (sp) would've been a better choice.

I don't know. He looks like a villian, just not Le Cheriffe. However, he looks unmistakably like Necros.

I'm with 0064 on the Necros thing.

This is something I'm not happy about, but I'll give it a chance and see.
