Tarantino Expresses 007 Interest
The 007 text of the article:
Quote:
I think this would be AWESOME. Tarantino is one of my favorite filmmakers. I can't even imagine how good a Bond film similar to Pulp Fiction would be! ![]() ![]()

I'm not sure how I feel about this.
Tarantino's style is very unique. I enjoy all of his movies so far. But I'm not sure if he's fit for a Bond movie. I don't think his sense of humour would be good for a Bond movie, or his odd mindset. But he would certainly make it enjoyable to watch. so again, I have conflicted feelings on this one.

I'm personally not a big fan of Tarantino (although I've only seen Resivoir Dogs, and didn't like that, but I still plan on seeing Pulp Fiction), and I don't think his 'renegade' style (for lack of a better word) would work well with Bond, and the frankness of his scripts wouldn't work too well, either (based on how movie Bond is). Plus, I don't think EON would give him the carte blanche to write the script AND direct it.

I think it would be a great idea. But, I think the concept about that it's straight after Tracy has died is a bit too far fetched. OHMSS is 34 years old! Instead of it happening straight after the incident, Bond could be just mourning, and then add in the plot of Casino Royale.I saw Pulp Fiction for the first time yesterday, absolutely amazing film. If you haven't seen it, see it!

I like Sean Connery's idea for Casino Royale better.
Sean said they should make it, but set in the 60's.

Tarantino would make a hell of a bond film. He is one of the best filmmakers to date and his dialogue is his strongest point in his movies. His humor would be extremely dark but hilarious. Reservoir Dogs is a good film, but Pulp Fiction of course is his masterpiece.
These news are great and if it happens, I sure will be nothing but happy. Can't wait for Kill Bill this friday. Kung Fu!

It would be kind of confusing if they did go back to the 1960s. After all, how would they explain going from 2002 to 1969?

One more thing, Mr. Blofeld, how do you explain dressing in drag in 1971? The seventies were a very confusing time for me. Besides, everyone was doing it. |

They wouldn't explain going back to the 60's. Like Connery said it would just be in that time.
Bond has never explained the time changes. Remember the cinematic Bond would be at least 73 years old right now if they actually tried to explain the time at all. They never explained how Pierce was Bond in 1986, which was before TLD even came out, yet that was what they claimed in GE.

They could set it in 1969-70 - critics have suggested a 'set-to-period' type Bond before - might work as a one-off.
As for the time thing, I think every Bond fan has their theories, I can't see TPTB worrying about that!

Ooh ooh ooh...

He would have been good in the Dalton-era
Funny to think he said that before CR 06 I wonder what he thought of the new one?

He probably would have some great ideas but EON would never go for it.
