Contributions: Pierce Brosnan was born in Ireland on May 16, 1953. Brosnan dabbled around his acting career for years before landing a spot on the television series, "Remington Steel." After the show's five-season run ended, Brosnan had a hard time landing another acting job. His career really picked up in 1993 when he was cast in "Mrs. Doubtfire." Shortly after, Pierce Brosnan brought back to life the James Bond character after six years of laying dormant. "Goldeneye" was a huge success, and is a favorite of many Bond fans. Brosnan's era as Bond is often credited as being the most experimental, as new technologies were being developed faster and faster. His four movie run as James Bond ended with a sudden announcement that Brosnan would no longer play James Bond. The series desperately needed an actor to breathe a little humor into the character, as well as remain classy and sexy.

After Timothy Dalton's less-than-humorous James Bond portrayal, fans were eager to laugh with a Bond movie once again. The series took a drastic turn with the downfall of Communism, but Brosnan's Bond was ready to face newer enemies and fight greater battles. Brosnan always insisted that the producers take the movies back to the older formula, and create more classic James Bond story lines. However, stubborn producers for the new era insisted on going further into the world of technology, and put Bond into more unrealistic situations. Brosnan's talent was very apparent, and he always managed to shine as James Bond, and filmed every scene with energy and enthusiasm. Any future Bond could learn a lot from Pierce Brosnan.
