One of the bigger reasons was because he felt that the character would become lost in a hippie dominated society, so he ignored his seven-picture deal he was offered. Another reason was because he felt that he needed to spend more time with his family. What ever kept Lazenby away from the martini is a huge burden in the eyes of the average Bond fan. "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" is the favorite of thousands of fans, and Lazenby has worked his way onto the top of the favorite Bond list for many more fans.
