Here's a random news tidbit for the day: Harold Sakata, popular with James Bond fans for portraying the razor-sharp-bowler-hat-wearing Oddjob in 1964's Goldfinger, was featured in a 1960's television advertisement for Vicks 44 cough syrup.

Featured in the commercial in an Oddjob-like manner, Sakata endorses Vicks 44 cough syrup for its "extra strength to help control a cough - before it goes on a rampage."

Interesting to see the woman in the clip. Perhaps she is Sakata's wife?

Unfortunately, Sakata does not speak in the commercial, so you will have to be satisfied with his "HAH HAH!" line when he caddies in Goldfinger - indicating Auric's golf ball location.

For those that were wondering, Sakata is an Olympic weightlifting medalist - earning a silver medal in light-heavyweight weightlifting for the United States in the 1948 Summer Olympic Games in London.

Second Bond Character TV Ad Bonus:

Geoffrey 'Baron Samedi' Holder in a 1970's 7-Up TV commercial. No in-character likeness here (that would be creepy) - although he does do his signature laugh at the end:

...and in the 1980's for 7-Up:
