Electronic Arts (EA) has recently announced the development of a new James Bond video game. GoldenEye: Rogue Agent has been in development for more than a year now, and will prove to be an exciting an addition to your James Bond video game collection.

Like its groundbreaking predecessor GoldenEye N64, Rogue will feature gameplay from the person perspective. Unlike previous Bond games, however, Rogue will be played from the perspective of the villains in the Bond franchise. Since the Bond series is meant to be set in one era of time, players will be able to interact with older Bond movie villains such as Dr. No and Goldfinger. EA announced earlier in the year that the working title for the game was GoldenEye 2: Dr. No vs. Goldfinger.

Development of the game is currently underweigh, with notable help from such Hollywood talent as longtime Bond production designer Ken Adams, Academy Award-winning costume designer Kym Barret and Final Fantasy: The Movie character artist René Morel. Game developers also promise the appearance of many classic Bond villains, including Dr. No, Goldfinger, Pussy Galore, Oddjob and Xenia Onatopp. The main objective of the game is to become the ultimate Bond villain, knocking out villain after villain along the way.

EA plans to place emphasis on the multiplayer aspect of the game, as well as weapon originality and interaction. For more, watch the GameSpot interview with Chris Plummer, the senior producer of EA.

The release date is currently (and tentativley) set for a November 2004 release. Plummer says that two levels of the game will be unveiled at the upcoming E3 gaming convention: Drax's Moonraker complex (multiplayer map, for XBox) and Goldfinger's Operation: Grand Slam (for PS2).
