User JAMESHOT pointed out an interesting snippet regarding an unused, original theme song for James Bond's third and final unofficial adventure, Never Say Never Again!
This unused theme was performed by the late Phyllis Hyman.

As first reported by MI6.co.uk, the theme was apparently axed after its use was barred as the result of a lawsuit between the theme's writers and performer.
What a tragic story!
Fortunately, Mr. Forsyth's kindness will give James Bond fans some insight to this theme that never was - and, after listening to it, it sounds great!!!
Check out the YouTube video of Phyllis Hyman's song set to the backdrop of the original Never Say Never Again opening sequence:
Lyrics
Never Say Never Again by Phyllis Hyman
I'll never say never again
There's no way to know the ways of love
I'll never say never again
Who drank the wine
?In the candle blow?
My heart was crying, don't let go
There was danger in your eyes
Was I falling into hell or paradise?
I'll never say never again
There's no way to know the ways of love
I'll never say never again
An impossible dream has just begun
Your lips have left me in heaven
I'll remember this moment forever and ever
I'll never say never again
Night into day
So close together
Behind the blue eyes are smiling
You're the perfect mastermind
You knew just the way to take this heart of mine
I'll never say never again
There's no way to know the ways of love
I'll never say never again
An impossible dream has just begun
Your lips have left me in heaven
I'll remember this night forever and ever
I'll never say never again
Never say never again
Never say never again
I'll never say never again
Never say never again
Forget how Lani Hall's original Never Say Never Again theme? Refresh your memory here:
I'm afraid to admit it, but I prefer Miss Hyman's theme to Never Say Never Again!
Lani Hall's rendition sounds a little more contemporary, while Phyllis Hyman's sound could be transplanted in any Bond movie decade. This, in my opinion, is the sign of a worthy Bond theme.
Listening to it over and over reinforces this point. Try it!
