Leiter is Bond’s British contact who recognizes “Card Sense Jimmy Bond” from another casino where Bond beat a Maharajah in Deauville, France. Leiter asks Bond for some tips on how to play the game of baccarat, and eventually persuades Bond to defeat the Soviet spy Le Chiffre to end his notorious career.

A fisherman from the Caymans, Bond’s first on-screen ally Quarrel guided him to the island of Crab Key in Dr. No. He was later killed there by No’s fire-breathing dragon tank.

Puss-feller is the owner of the Kingston nightclub and assists Bond, Leiter, and Quarrel. In the original novel of Dr. No, we are told that the character’s bizarre name stems from his legendary battle against an octopus. In the film, he is known for wrestling alligators, leaving the origin of his name inconsistent.

Felix Leiter is Bond’s contact from the CIA in Dr. No. He eventually becomes one of Bond’s close friends. Leiter helps Bond to get in contact with Dr. No.

Kerim Bey is Bond’s aid during his mission in Istanbul in From Russia With Love. Pedro Armendariz was terminally ill during filming so towards the end of shooting director Terence Young had to double for him. The actor’s son played president Hector Lopez in Licence To Kill 26 years later.

Smithers is the distinguished representative of the Bank of England who informs Bond and M about the dangers of Goldfinger’s international gold-smuggling operations. As bait for Goldfinger, Smithers lends 007 a rare gold bar which originated from a lost hoard of Nazi bullion.

Tanaka is the head of Japan’s Secret Service and Bond’s help while searching for the two hijacked spaceships. In You Only Live Twice, he arranges Bond’s fake marriage and ninja training among other things.

Henderson is Bond’s contact in Japan during You Only Live Twice. Unfortunately, he is stabbed in the back by one of Blofeld’s thugs. In contrast to the movie, Henderson had a major role in the Fleming novel. Charles Gray is better remembered for playing Ernst Blofeld in Diamonds Are Forever.

This head of the CIA joins several other world spy leaders in visiting Bond to try and coax him out of retirement to overthrow SMERSH. Bond dismisses all of them on the account of being “joke shop spies&” – in Ransome’s case, for his trick carnation that spits cyanide.

This head of Russian KGB is another member of the spy community who visits a retired Sir James Bond to try and coax him out of retirement to defeat SMERSH. Bond dismisses all of their requests, and specifically Smernov for his “armory&” concealed in his “grotesque boots.&”

This head of French’s (now defunct) intelligence agency Deuxieme Bureau joins his counterparts from other countries to coax Sir James Bond out of retirement to defeat SMERSH. They are all dismissed of course, and Le Grand for his different deadly poisons in each of his fly buttons.

A hick sheriff from Louisiana, Pepper first met Bond in Live and Let Die while Bond was escaping from Kananga’s henchmen by motorboat. JW serves as comic relief in The Man With The Golden Gun. He really isn’t an ally, so to speak. Instead, he serves as one of Bond’s contacts.

Beginning with The Spy Who Loved Me, head of KGB Anatol Gogol and M strived for Anglo-Soviet cooperation. On one occassion, though, Gogol worked against MI6: in For Your Eyes Only he tried to get the ATAC decoding machine before the British.

They team up to pursue and arrest drug cartel leaded Franz Sanchez and have close personal relationship – Bond served as Leiter’s Best Man. Tragically, Felix is badly mauled by sharks and his wife Della is killed at the hands of Sanchez.

After Bond loses his bankroll, Leiter stops him from attempting to kill Le Chiffre and buys him back into the tournament on the CIA’s bill. Leiter turns out to be a life saver for Bond at the tournament.

Leiter returns in Craig’s second outing as Bond, this time assisting 007 in rooting out the shady relationship between General Medrano and Dominic Greene and their plan to monpolize Bolivia’s fresh water market. The keeper of James Bond’s childhood home Skyfall, Kincade is a valuable asset to Bond and M as they flee London and try to isolate Silva in a final showdown. Equipping Bond a with only a double-barrel shotgun, Kincade assists in booby-trapping the Skyfall grounds to counter Silva’s thugs, and ensures M’s escape through an underground tunnel to safety. Unfortunately, M’s wounds are too great from the battle, and she dies.
