Peter Lorre played the husky French villain in the 1954 made-for-tv unofficial Bond movie Casino Royale, as a Soviet spy and adversary of Bond and Leiter. His vice is the card game baccarat and plays against Bond but loses 87 million francs, and is eventually shot and killed by Bond.
